  Martin Homann
Percussionist

Born in 1965, he has played percussion since the age of ten. In 1985 he began studying percussion with Prof. Peter Sadlo at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, where he completed his master class diploma in 1992. From 1987 to 1990 he was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, and his interests turned increasingly to New Music. Since his studies he has been a guest of all the important ensembles for contemporary music (Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien, and others) on numerous tours and CD recordings. Since 1996 he is a permanent guest of the Münchener Kammerorchester and performs regularly with other chamber orchestras, such as the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Since 1996 he has also been working continuously as a theater musician for the Münchener Kammerspiele and the Residenztheater München. His strong interest in historical performance practice has led to active collaboration with many ensembles for Early Music since 2000. In 2003 he was a founding member of the ensemble ascolta. In 2005 he participated in Die Süße unserer traurigen Kindheit at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
