  Katrin Herbel
Video Artist

Katrin Herbel studied art (film class/Abramovic’s class) at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig from 1994 to 2001, where she created a variety of performance videos and installations on the reality of the human being as person and body, between seeing and being seen. In 2000 she was a master student of Marina Abramovic; in 2000 she received a work stipend from the State of Lower Saxony; studio stipend in the artist’s village of Schöppingen. Her work has been exhibited at a variety of exhibitions, at the Museum Fridericianum Kassel and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, among other venues. In 2006 she participated in Schöner Götterfunken! Bilder einer Ausstellung einer Ausstellung as one of four pieces of the NewMediaPocketOpera project at the Forum Neues Musiktheater on the occasion of the ISCM World New Music Festival 2006.
