  Giorgio Casati
Cellist

Giorgio Casati studied cello at the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. He is especially committed to the performance of contemporary music, is a cofounder of the MDI (Musica d’Insieme) Ensemble, and plays regularly with the Icarus Ensemble and the Divertimento Ensemble. Casati has been a guest of numerous European festivals, such as Ars Musica in Brussels, the Tage für neue Musik in Zurich, and the Biennale di Venezia. He has worked with composers such as Fausto Romitelli, Gérard Pesson, Mauricio Kagel, and Heiner Goebbels. In 2002 he received the Benemerito della Cultura e dell’Arte prize. He participated in Il cielo sulla terra at the Forum Neues Musiktheater in 2006.
