Originally from France, Johanna Levy was trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon and Rudra, the school of Maurice Béjart in Switzerland. She then did a BA and an MA in Performance Art in Paris witch she was awarded with the highest honors. She settled a dance company with five other dancers. At the same time she worked for a project in music, dance and architecture with the conductor Nicolas Frize and the choreographer Julie Des Prairies. Johanna moved to London in September 2004 and has worked with UK based choreographers: Joumana Mourad (Ijad Dance Company) and director: Jason Hird (Institute for Crazy dancing). In 2005 and 2006 16 (R)evolutions at Forum Neues Musiktheater.
