back  The dance theater company Troika Ranch from New York City presents its Live Interactive (Live-I) Workshop at the Forum Neues Musiktheater. This is an intensive seminar for artists and interested visitors who wish to discover and learn how to use interactive computer technology and image media in the development and performance of dance, theater, and related art forms. The workshop will be led by composer and programmer Mark Coniglio and choreographer Dawn Stoppiello, both vice directors of Troika Ranch. Participants will be given the opportunity to work with technology that makes it possible to control video, sound, light, and other computer-controllable media interactively by means of one’s gestures and speech.

This three-day workshop at the Forum Neues Musiktheater is an intensive software and hardware introduction to Coniglio’s real-time control software for media, with special attention to Isadora®. The work will be supplemented by critical discussions of the influence of media and technology on the form and content of artistic work processes.

At the end of the workshop, participants will receive a three-month license for Isadora, allowing them to continue with their experiments.
