Voice-Treatment / DSP-Programming in Collaboration with
Forum Neues Musiktheater Staatsoper Stuttgart, Andreas Breitscheid / Manuel Poletti
For children from the age of 12 years.
With his new project You made me a monster, William Forsythe moves between installation,
performance, and sonic environment.
“Intricate and grotesque skeletal models, constructed by
both the audience and performers alike, fill the performing space. These models serve as a
score that leads the transformed voices of the performers through a complex, soaring matrix of grief”.
William Forsythe
A Production by The Forsythe Company in Coproduction with La Biennale di Venezia and Tanz im August, Berlin. Supported by Siemens Arts Program.
In the course of the research project William Forsythe & Forum Neues Musiktheater
“I always wanted the dancers to be their own instrument”
William Forsythe
The
Forum is developing new applications of technology for sound
production and manipulation for the Forsythe Company that will enable
the dancers to produce a mixture of movement, speaking, singing, and
electronic sounds in real time. Aspects of this work could be seen in
the new production Three Atmospheric Studies by William Forsythe and The Forsythe Company, which premiered on April 2005 in the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main. As an example for the results of this research work the performance-installation You made me a monster will be presented in five shows at the Forum Neues Musiktheater in January 2006.
